So who am I?
Well howdy folks, I truly appreciate you stopping by and checking out who the heck is this “Dena Maddie” chick. I’m just a regular gal who did the 9-5 thing and ditched the corporate shackles and the city noise for the country life with my chickens and garden.
I’m pretty passionate and kinda obsessed with preventative wellness. My goal is to share workouts, recipes, and tips with you that will make a healthy lifestyle fun and sustainable.
A journey that changes and is shaped by our lives. Growing up, I was fortunate to have a very active family. I played all types of sports even though I wasn’t particularly good at any of them. My family was pretty healthy, ran marathons, cooked healthy meals and worked out consistently which set a good example for my siblings and I. When I went off on my own to college, I started off exercising pretty consistently but as the years went by and life happened my attention to my health and wellness dwindled to an all time low. As I worked to overcome an eating disorder, negativity had overshadowed my life.
THEN I MADE A CHOICE. I DECIDED TO CHANGE.
Through an internship in the last 2 summers of college, I applied the principles of sales training to shift my paradigm and begin to infuse my life with positivity. I bought in, and with regained confidence began to work towards my goals with fervor, without abandon. I realized that I can’t control everything, but my attitude is my choice. Decide to be f**cking happy.
I am grateful. I appreciate this gift of life and the body I have that is able to go outside and run I have the freedom to choose what, where, & when I workout. I do strength & conditioning, yoga, flexibility & fascia work, bike, dabble in martial arts, and explore the outdoors. I run, I hike, I swim. Being active and eating food that makes me feel good is what I’m all about.
A healthy lifestyle is important to me because I want to live a long, injury free and flexible life so I can enjoy the things I love for as long as possible. Exercise is one component, but a sustainable plan for eating clean with a busy lifestyle is hard to come up with.
What’s this got to do with me?
I want to help make clean eating feasible, low maintenance, and accessible for you.
