I had my first camping experience EVER last weekend.
I had no idea how much fun it would be. Or how HOT! Damn.
But it was so much fun. I went with a couple of guys that have been around the block a time or two and had pretty much everything one could need in the semi-wilderness. Like, I scraped my knee at one point and this guy pulls out a medic kit.
“‘if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”
I had literally bought a sleeping bag that day and had forgotten to so much as to bring a towel. They had tents up and a fire started before I had finished applying bug spray.
Plus there were showers! Albeit cold water, it was nice to be able to wash off after swimming. I’m all for exposing oneself to bacteria to strengthen the immune system, but in this instance, I wouldn’t want that bacteria lingering too long.
Showers, sinks, and mirrors.
What else could a girl want?
Definitely a way to win this girl over.
Oh and waterfalls! In the hot Texas sun, a dip in the cold springs is much needed and lives up to all the hype.
Krause Springs… waterfall, cave, rope swing. Cold, cold water in the hot Texas sun!
Pool. Full of kids during the day.
It was so busy but there was enough room for our rather large group to sit and float together.
No glass, but all other type of beverages were allowed. 🙂
Honestly, I was sweating so much that I went for water 3 of the 4 times a drink was offered.
Sweating bullets, I tell you. I tried to take cold showers and apply sunscreen while my body was still cool so it didn’t sweat off immediately.
Saturday I got to go hiking the back way and take some cool pictures of turtles and waterfalls. I had no idea how much of a workout it would be… climbing through streams to get the best shots and on top of rocks to get the best view point.
My legs were sore the next day.
Loved it 🙂
Good times, cool people, good food, good music, beautiful scenery.
Next time maybe I’ll remember to bring a towel…
